Our first "Intentional Encounter" weekend was a huge success. Thanks to Betheny Christian Services & the Telman family for being our special guest last night as we were encouraged about missions both locally and globally.
Wow, what a wonderful Christmas weekend of ministry the Lord gave us. Over the weekend, we saw 6 people trust Christ as their Savior which was the best thing that happened at HBC! On Saturday night, we saw 4 trust Christ and then 2 were saved on Sunday morning. This is what it is all about -- Making Much of Jesus so that HBC can do its part in reaching the 65,000 unchurched individuals that are in our area.
Don't forget we have changed our service times this weekend to Saturday Night @ 6:00PM and 10:00AM on Sunday Morning. We are looking forward to seeing you at one of our services this weekend!!
God gave us an amazing weekend here at HBC! Even though many were gone for the Thanksgiving Weekend, we did see several guests in our services. We had one baptized Saturday Night and in the three services we saw five trust the Lord as their Savior. Praise the Lord for His goodness to us.
This weekend we honor Pastor & Faye Moore on 25 years of faithful ministry @ HBC. We are so thankful for their ministry and service and we honor them both for what they mean to us!!
The Time Change really made an impact on our services this past Sunday. We had no doubt our best fall attendance for a Sunday since we began our new fall format back in September. With our three weekend services (Saturday Night, and two Sunday morning services), we were close to 800 in attendance. We are seeing many new faces in our services and there is great excitement in all our ministries. Our Sunday night ministries are doing very well also. Connection Groups are growing and many are asking about becoming a part. It is truly exciting to see the enthusiasm that our people have for the ministry at HBC. God is doing great things in our midst.
Wow -- what a great time we had Sunday evening with our first, and what we trust will be an annual event, "Trunk or Treat" event. We literally packed the Family Life Center with boys and girls and their parents. There were many activities for the children and a gospel message was presented by Tim Sytsma.
Our 25th Annual Faith Promise Missions Conference ended with tears of joy! Wednesday's closing service was absolutely amazing. Steve Saint blessed all of us with his stories of his Acua Indian Friends and also with his passion for souls around the world. His innovative ideas of how we can better reach the world as well as "go and make disciples of all nations" were truly an eye-opener.
Now, it is time to turn in Faith Promise Commitment Cards - your giving to Missions. Our goal this year is to raise $125,000.00 in Faith Promise Giving, which will allow us to do more for missions that we have been able to do the past several years.
